
This is a species/locality of orange springtail originally collected Florida. This species cannot jump and moves quite slowly. They prefer life underground but swarm food on the surface.

Culture Florida Orange Springtails on soil only, starting in a small container like 8oz deli cups. Feed yeast, dry rice, or Springtails US springtail food mixes. Originally collected from a rotting log in Florida. Ecosystem preference not fully understood, but likely soil and rot wood dwelling. Range/ distribution nearctic.
