Porcellio laevis “Wild Type” are an excellent isopod for beginners! Very fast breeding, tolerant of many environments, and forgiving of mistakes. They are very protein hungry though so are not recommended as cleanup crew for small or soft animals. In culture I recommend weekly feeding of a protein source such as fish food or freeze dried minnows. Wild Type is the natural coloration of P. laevis.
